February 27th is Estonia Day in Boston!

Pühapäeval, 27. veebruaril, kell 11.00 The Bog/Soo USA-s esilinastub Bostoni kesklinnas Emerson Centeri Paramount Center'is. Hiljem, Eesti Vabariigi Aktus / Estonian Independence Day Celebration toimub kell 15:00 lühikese autosõidu kaugusel Newtonis asuvas Scandinavian Living Centeris. Pea kõneleja on Eestist pärit tunnustatud filmitegija Olle Mirme.

Bostoni Balti Filmikomitee kutsus Mirmet tänavusel festivalil osalema. Ta oli reede õhtul festivali avavamusel Eesti spioonipõneviku “Dawn of War/ O2.” Kuna ta on filmi stsenarist ta osales Q&A'ga, ning laupäeval paneeldiskussioonil teiste Läti ja Leedu filmitegijatega. Pühapäeval on ta esineja Bostoni Eesti Seltsi iseseisvuspäeva tähistamisel.

Olle Mirme (sündis 26. augustil 1973 Tallinnas) on eesti ajakirjanik ja stsenarist.

Ta on töötanud režissöörina, programmijuhina, filmikriitikuna ja toimetajana kinos, televisioonis, raadios ja ajakirjanduses. Samuti on ta õppejõud BFM-is (Tallinna Ülikooli Balti Filmi-, Meedia- ja Kunstikool).

1998. aastal lõpetas Mirme Tallinna Pedagoogikaülikooli telerežii erialal.

Mirme on avaldanud filmiarvustusi Pühapäevalehes ja Sõnumilehes ning teinud telesaateid Eesti Televisioonis (vabakutselise režissöörina), filmisaateid Eesti Raadios.

Aastatel 2001–2018 oli Mirme ETV2 programmidirektor. Tema juhtimisel tõusis ETV2 Eesti vaadatuimaks telekanaliks. Mirme töötab produktsioonifirmas Nafta, kus ta on osalenud spioonipõneviku Dawn of War/ Sõja Koit/O2" ja järgmisel aastal avatava keskaegse krimitriloogia Apteeker Melchior/Apteeker Melchior stsenaariumi kirjutamisel.

Sunday, February 27th at 11:00 a.m.The Bog/ Soo premieres in the US at Emerson Center's Paramount Center in downtown Boston. At 3:00 pm Eesti Vabariigi Aktus / Estonian Independence Day Celebration will be observed at the Scandinavian Living Center in West Newton, a short drive away. The featured speaker will be Olle Mirme, noted filmmaker from Estonia.

Olle has been invited by the Boston Baltic Film Committee to participate in this year's festival. He is the scriptwriter for the Dawn of War, the Estonian spy thriller that opened the festival on Friday evening. He was on hand at the theater for Q&A after the screening and on Saturday for a panel discussion with other filmmakers from Latvia and Lithuania. On Sunday he will be the featured speaker at the Boston Estonian Society's Independence Day Celebration

Olle Mirme (born August 26, 1973 in Tallinn) is an Estonian journalist and screenwriter.

He has been working as a director, head of programming, film critic and editor in cinema, television, radio and journalism. He is also a lecturer at the BFM (Baltic Film, Media and Arts School of Tallinn University).

In 1998, he graduated from Tallinn Pedagogical University with a degree in television directing.

Mirme has published film reviews in Pühapäevaleht and Sõnumileht and made television programs on Estonian Television (as a freelance director), and film programs on Estonian Radio.

From 2001 to 2018 Mirme was Program Director ETV2. Under his leadership, ETV2 became the most watched TV channel in Estonia. Mirme works for the production company Nafta, where he has participated in the screenwriting of the films Dawn of War/ O2, the spy thriller, and Melchior the Apothecary/ Apteeker Melchior, the medieval crime trilogy, which will open next year.
