Sel aastal toimub Jõulupidu 20. detsembril Waltham Covenant Congregational kirikus. Jõulu jumalateenistus algab kell 3 pärastlõunal, teenib õpetaja Uudo Tari, solistiks Epp Sonin ning orelil Paul Carlson. Kõik on teretulnud kaasa laulma.

Kirikule järgneb traditsiooniline vorsti söömine hapukapsaste ja kartulitega. Kohvilauale ootab Seltsi panuseid kõigilt pidulistelt – nii saab laud rikkalikum. Et usinate kokkade kulusid katta, palub Selts kõigilt väikest annetust.

Peale õhtusööki on oodata ka Jõuluvana, kes kahjuks saab meie seltsis viibida vaid lühikest aega, et meie noorimatele seltsilistele kingitusi jagada. Et Jõuluvana tööd kergemaks teha, palun võta ühendust Jõuluvana abilise Hella Paabusega (978-374-9143) hiljemalt 16. detsembriks, et Jõuluvana teaks täpselt, kui palju lapsi meiega koos 20. detsembril pidutsevad. Ja loomulikult jagab Jõuluvana lastele ka kingitused, mis ta abilisele peopäeval antakse.

This years festivities will be held on the 20th of December at the Covenant Congregational Church in Waltham. The church service will begin at 3 p.m., officiated by the Rev. Uudo Tari and with the musical accompaniment of Epp Sonin and Paul Carlson. Everyone is welcome to join them in singing and listening to the familiar tunes associated with this winter holiday. 

Following the church service everyone is encouraged to continue celebrating in the adjoining hall where we will be serving a traditional Christmas Dinner of blood sausage, sauerkraut and potatoes. To help defray the cost, we will be asking for a small donation. After dinner there will be coffee and desserts, contributions of your favorite desserts or cookies are welcome and encouraged. 

We have already made arrangements for Mr. Claus to visit, unfortunately he can only stay for a short visit after dinner, but he is sure to help lead us in carols and distribute gifts to the youngsters in our group. To make Santa’s work easier please contact Hella Paabus (978-374-9143) before the 16th of December if you have any children (or know of any children) who will be joining us on the 20th. Santa will also deliver gifts handed to "Santa’s Helper" on the day of the party.

Balti Kontsertseeria
8. veebruar 
Nagu juba eelmises ringkirjas sai mainitud, toimub järgmine Eesti kontsert pühapäeval, 8. veebruaril 2004 a., kell 3 pärastlõunal. Solistiks Hanna-Liina Võsa, klaveril Hando Nahkur. Kontserdi toimumiskohaks on The First and Second Church in Boston (66 Marlborough Street, Boston, MA).

Hanna-Liina alustas oma lauljakarjääri Eesti Televisiooni lastekooris Ave Kumpase juhendamisel, ning on laulnud juhtrollides sellistes lavastustes nagu “Oklahoma,” “Cabaret” ning “Les Miserables.” Viimati sai siinne publik Hanna-Liina lauluhäälele kaasa elada muusikali “Grease” üle-ameerikalisel tuuril, kus Hanna-Liina esines Sandy rollis.

Baltic Concert Series
February 8th
As was mentioned in out last newsletter, the next Estonian concert in the series will take place on February 8 at 3 p.m. at the First and Second Church in Boston (66 Marlborough Street, Boston, MA). Singer Hanna-Liina Võsa will be performing, accompanied by Hando Nahkur at the piano. 

Hanna-Liina started her singing career with the children’s choir of the Estonian Television under the guidance of Ave Kumpas and has had lead roles in the Estonian versions of such musicals as “Oklahoma,” “Cabaret,” and “Les Miserables.” Most recently the local audience saw her in the role of Sandy in the US National Tour of the musical “Grease.”

Estonian Independence Day
February 22nd
Independence Day celebration will take place on February 22 at 2 p.m. in Waltham. This year’s keynote speaker will be Anna Zigure from Latvia.
